I am currently seeking an experienced Secretary to join a highly regarded law firm based in central Sheffield. This is a bus and varied role where you will be responsible for providing secretarial support to a team of fee earners, including dictation, word processing, diary management, filing, archiving, emailing, photocopying and handling telephone enquiries. The successful applicant will be an experienced Secretary who has a fast and accurate typing speed along with experience of using Microsoft Office.
Duties will include:
Respond promptly and effectively to enquiries from fee earners and, when required, clients, ensuring all messages are communicated to the appropriate colleague in a timely manner.
Maintain filing systems and manage incoming and outgoing post, liaising with fee earners as necessary.
Process payment requests in accordance with established procedures.
Manage various inboxes and utilise different systems.
Ensure all equipment is used safely and securely, reporting any faults immediately to the Business Support Manager or General Office
To maintain files in a neat and orderly state and in compliance with Lexel guidance.
Cover for General Office at busy periods.
Be involved in ad hoc projects
To perform other secretarial and administrative duties as may be required from time to time but not specifically referred to above.
Applicants must have:
Previous secretarial experience, ideally within a legal environment, including proficiency in dictation.
A minimum of 12 months secretarial experience
Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM
Proficient IT skills - particularly Microsoft Office and outlook
